Medical education

We are a training practice and teach medical students which means on occasions  you may be asked to see the doctor or nurse with a student present. Your consent  will be sought prior to the consultation, however if you would prefer for the student not to be present you may request for the student to be withdrawn from the consultation.

The practice is a placement for both third year and fifth year students. Year 3 is predominately clinical with emphasis on the acquisition of diagnostic skills and the study of illness in acute medical settings and in chronic disease.  In year 5 students undertake an eight week course called ‘Medicine in the Community’ within General Practice.
